This is one of the highest quality Lao Ban Zhang that SearchingTea has ever produced.  

This year’s cake is made from the first flush of Spring material, which was harvested from the oldest trees in Lao Ban Zhang village which are between 350 and 450 years old.  The picking and processing were overseen by SearchingTea Ourself.  At each stage, he managed the processing to make sure the picking, wilting, kill-green, rolling, and sun-drying stages were all done to perfection!

Right now, it’s a fantastically smooth ripe tea that brews a nice dark wine-red color and is smooth and sweet. The brewed tea is highly aromatic and cooling in the mouth and throat. The aroma is sweet with hints of camphor and sugarcane juice. Strong mouth-feeling and good cha qi.   There is a thickness to it and a bitterness that immediately transforms in nectar-like sweetness.  Cha Qi is strong but pleasant and energizing.
