2006 Yunnan Mengku SearchingTea Sky Star Iceland “Autumn Bing Dao Lao Zhai” Ripe Pu erh Tea Cake 17 Years Aged Aroma Collection Level
$14.90 – $188.90
Description
Our 3rd production is from Bing Dao village, and the second is from Spring harvested tea leaves!
We have produced other teas from neighboring villages
Bing Dao Lao Zhai (lit Bing Dao Old Village) is one of the two villages called “Bing Dao.” There is Bing Dao Xin Zhai (lit: Bing Dao New Village) as well, which is the more famous of the two villages in the same area. Bing Dao Lao Zhai trees range in age from 250-350 years old, and while there are older trees, we were not privy to that material due to high demand and very high prices. That being said, this is still the most expensive Lincang tea we have ever produced. It is also one of the best we have produced, and if you want to drink Bing Dao tea from spring harvest and from old trees, then this is an excellent choice!
This tea soup is clear and burgundy red. The aroma is sweet, with hints of camphor and sugarcane juice. The taste is sweet with an earthy bitterness to contrast it. Strong mouth-feeling and good cha qi.
Ripe Pu erh Tea is a sub-type of Pu erh tea that has undergone a “wet piling” process. Wet Piling aka “wo dui” was originally applied to Pu erh in the 1970s as a way to fast age raw Pu erh (sheng cha), making it more palatable and smooth like a fully aged raw Pu erh.
